That’s where having a writing ritual comes in handy. The ritual is the process you go through before you write to tell your brain, “It’s writing time – no excuses.” The ritual can be virtually anything that pushes you out of procrastination and towards getting your work done.
It may be a quick jam on your guitar, ten minutes of yoga or meditation, or even a prayer. Whatever works for you. There’s no right or wrong answer. Just make sure you turn it into a consistent habit.
Tip Number 2: Clear Your Work Space
Clutter has subtle effects on productivity. If you’re not an organized person, you may tell yourself, “I like it this way – I know where everything is.” Sadly, that’s often an illusion.

For instance, I myself tend to be most productive in the evenings, between about 12 and 6pm. If I try to work first thing in the morning, I find it can take me three times longer to do the same amount of work. Some people are more productive from 10pm to 2am.
Work with your body, rather than against it, by concentrating your efforts on the hours when your brain is functioning at its peak.
